Australia lost its way when play started on the second day. They were reduced to 99/5, thanks to a brilliant spell of off spin bowling by Harbhajan Singh. He removed Justin Langer (19), Mark Waugh (0) and Ricky Ponting (0) in a jiffy. Rahul Sanghvi accounted for Steve Waugh (15). India were making a strong comeback in to the match, riding on Singh's success.
