Australia never really recovered as they lost Steve Waugh (24), caught by Hemang Badani (substituting for the injured Nayan Mongia who was struck on his nose by a bouncing delivery from Singh) off the bowling of Harbhajan Singh. When Glenn McGrath was given out lbw off Singh by umpire SK Bansal, the Aussie dream came to a grinding halt. India had pulled off a miraculous victory, after being asked to follow on. VVS Laxman's and Rahul Dravid's batting as well as Harbhajan Singh's bowling made a huge difference to the Indian performance. But this was a great team effort by the Indians.
