Group II Format

FORMAT GROUP II

For Teams in Group II :(Commercial, Banking and Industrial Establishments).
I Division :League Tournament - KSCA Shield.
II Division:League - cum - Knockout Tournament- KSCA Shield
III Division:State Qualifying Knockout Tournament- KSCA Sheild

I Division :Nor more than 12 teams
II Division :Not more than 32 teams
III Division :Teams in group II- other than those allocated to I and II Divisions and newly affiliated teams in this category.

    a.I Division :

    Not more than 12 teams and the teams allocated to this division will play every other team in the division once on Round Robin basis.

    All league matches will be one day duration and will be played as per rules applicable to One day Matches.

    b. II Division:

    The teams shall be divided into FOUR Zones of not more than 8 teams in each Zone. Each team will play every other team in its Zone once on Round Robin basis. Two teams securing highest number of points in each Zone will be eligible to participate in the Final Knockout.

    NOTE:

    Unequal distribution of teams in Zones shall not affect the selection of the teams for the Final Knockout or for Promotions/relegations.

    All league matches within the Zones will be of one day duration and will be played as per rules applicable to One day Matches. All Matches including the Quarter-final Matches in Knockout will be one day duration and will also be played as per rules applicable to One day Matches.

    Semi-finals and Final matches will be of two days duration and will be played as per rules applicable to Two day Matches.

    c. III Division:

    Matches will be played on Knock - out basis. Preliminary matches including the Quarter-final matches will be of one day duration and will be played as per rules applicable to One day Matches.

    Semi-final and Final Matches will be of two days duration and will be played as per rules applicable to two day Matches.

    4.PROMOTIONS:

    i. The Finalists of the II Division (League - cum Knockout) will be promoted to the I Division League.

    ii. The Semi-finalists of the III Division (Knockout Tournament) will be promoted to the II Division (League-cum-Knockout).

    RELEGATIONS

    i. Out of the participating teams, Two teams securing the lowest number of points in the I Division will be relegated to the next lower division (i.e., II Division League-cum-Knockout).

    ii. Out of the participating teams Four teams securing the lowest number of points in the league stage of II Division will be relegated to the III Division (Knockout).

    In case more than TWO teams in the I Division and FOUR teams in the II Division, have earned the same number of points (at lower level) at league stage, the method of net run rate will be applied to decide the last two or four positions (as the case may be).

    NOTE:

    1. In case more than two teams earned the same number of points Two teams at the completion of League stage, the method of net run rate will be applied to decide the highest/lowest two position (Promotion/Relegation/Knock-out) as the case may be. (In case of Group II, II Division and Group I, IV Division Four teams - for relegation).

    2. The Managing Committee shall have power to fill up the vacancies thus caused and also vacancies thus caused and also vacancies caused for any other reason by promoting the requisite number of teams to make up the allocated number of teams in the divisions concerned. These promotions shall be only from the team in the lower divisions in the order of merit. Any vacancy in the division will be filled up by promotions from the next season.

    3. Member Clubs allocated to a particular division and not participating in the league in the season will be relegated to the next lower division due to nonparticipation.

    GUIDELINES FOR NET RUNRATES:

    A team's net run rate is calculated by deducting from the average runs per over scored by that team throughout the league tournament the average runs per over scored against that team throughout the League Tournament.

    In the event of a team being all out in less than its full quota of over, the calculation of its net run rate shall be based on the full quota of overs to which it would have been entitled and not on the number of overs in which the team was dismissed.

    Fraction in the over will be taken as completed over.
