In the pipeopener of the Singer Triangular Series at Galle, Sri Lanka easily overcame Pakistan by five wickets. Nuwan Zoysa struck some telling blows for the hosts as Pakistan laboured to 164/8 in their allotted 45 overs. The innings was entirely built around a gallant undefeated 83 by crisis man Inzamam-ul-Haq. Indeed Pakistan looked resigned to settling for much less at 84/7 but Inzy and Waqar Younis engineered a late order recovery.
