The super openers of Indian cricket did well in the tri
series, even bettering their own world record for the first
wicket. Left-handed Ganguly and right-handed Tendulkar pose a
threat to any bowling attack. They smashed 258 runs for the
first wicket against Kenya at Paarl. Ganguly and Tendulkar hit
two hundreds apiece in the tri-series. The Indian skipper
amassed 380 runs at an average of 63.33 to signal that he is
back in form. The little master laid all doubts regarding his
fitness to rest by scoring 342 runs at an average of 57.00 and made the
best score of the tournament, 146 against Kenya at Paarl. The
run hunters are in good form and would have forced the Proteas
to work out a new strategy for the Test series.
