Tournament Format and Structure

2.1.1 The following Tournaments are classified as Major Tournaments and shall be conducted by the Tournament Committee of the BCCSL in TWO SEPARATE SEGMENTS with clubs in each Segment competing amongst each other as in a separate Tournament, as indicated below. These two tournaments are considered as Division I Tournaments. All matches of the Premier Trophy Tournament shall be considered as INTERNATIONAL FIRST CLASS MATCHES

a) Premier League Tournament
b) Sara Trophy League Tournament

2.1.2 The following Tournaments are classified as One Day National Tournaments and shall be conducted by the Tournament Committee of the BCCSL in TWO SEPARATE SEGMENTS with clubs in each Segment competing amongst each other as in a separate Tournament, as indicated below. These two tournaments are considered as Division I Tournaments.

a) Premier Limited Over Championship
b) Champions Trophy Limited Over Tournament

2.1.3 The following Tournaments are classified as Minor Tournaments and shall be conducted by the Tournament Committee of the BCCSL in TWO SEPARATE SEGMENTS with clubs in each segment competing amongst each other as in a separate Tournament, as indicated below. These two tournaments are considered as Division II Tournaments.

a). Donovan Andree Tournament -for 2nd XI teams of Division I Clubs
b) Division 11 Tournament -for Is'XI teams of other clubs.

2.2 The Tournament Committee based on their performances in the previous Tournaments and or based on the area shall seed the teams into Divisions, Segments and Groups.

2.3 No club shall field more than one team in the Division I Tournaments.
2.4. PREMIER LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
2.4.1. Preliminary Round

2.4.1.1 The top four teams (Super Group) ftom the last year will be automatically selected to play in the Super League. Each team will play every other team in this group. The points gained in these matches will be added to the points gained in the Super League.

The balance twelve teams will feature in two groups of 6 each. Each team will play every other team in its group.

2.4.1.2 At the end of the qualifying round of matches, the top three teams from each group will progress to a final round play-off with the top four teams from the Super Group for positions 11I to I9 which will be termed as Super League.

2.4.1.3. At the end of the qualifying round of matches, the last three teams from each group will
Proceed to a separate final round of matches with top teams from each of the three groups of the Sara Trophy Tournament. This is played for positions II to 19, which will be termed as Plate Championship.

2.4.2. Super League - Final Round

2.4.2.1 Three qualifying teams from one group will play against the three qualifying teams in the other group and also with the four teams in the super group in the final round.

The six teams that qualify carry forward the points they have gained against the other teams that have qualified from their respective groups.

Z4.2.2 The four teams from the Super Group will play against the six teams that qualify to play in the final round

The four teams selected to play in the Super Group carry forward the points they have gained against the other teams that are selected to play in the Super Group.

2.4.2.3. The points carried forward by each team are added to those they gain in the final round matches, to form the league table for positions I to 10.

2.4.2.4 There will be 7 matches in the Final round for a team qualified and points of the 2 matches played in the qualifying round will be carried forward.

There will be 6 matches in the Final round for a team automatically qualified to the super group and points of 3 matches played in the Super Group will be carried forward.

2.4.2.5 Semi Finals/Finals

The top four teams, which have gained the highest number of points, shall play a Semi Final and Final on a knockout basis.

2.4.2.6 Duration of matches

All matches of Qualifying Round Super League and Plate Championship will be of Three day duration and Semi Finals and Finals shall be of Four day duration.

4.3. Plate Championship -Final Round

2.4.3.1 Three qualifying teams from one group will play -against the three qualifying teams in the other group and also with the three teams that qualify from the Sara Trophy in the final round

2.4.3.2. The six teams that qualify carry forward the points they have gained against the other teams that have qualified tom their respective groups.

The points carried forward by each team are added to those they gain in the final round matches, to form the league table for positions 11 to 19.

2.4.3.3. The three teams from Sara Trophy will play against the two other teams in the Sara Trophy and also with the six teams that qualify to play in the Plate Championship.

2.4.3.4 The points gained by the three teams qualifying from the Sara Trophy against the other teams that are selected from the Sara Trophy are added to those they gain in the final round matches, to form the league table for positions 11 to 19.

2.4.3.5 There will be 6 matches in the Final round for a team qualified and points of the 2 matches played in the qualifying round will be carried forward.

There will be 8 matches in the Final round for a team qualified to play from the Sara Trophy.

2.4.3.5 The teams placed at positions I I to 16 will continue to play in the Premier Trophy next year/season.

2.4.3.6 The teams placed 1 7, 18 & 19 will be relegated to play in the next years/seasons Sara Trophy Tournament.

2.4.3.7 The team, which has gained the highest number of points, will be declared as the winner of the Plate Championship.

2.5. Sara League Tournament

2.5.1. The teams will feature in three Groups of 8 teams each. Each team will play every other team in its group in the qualifying round

2.5.2 At the end of the qualifying round of matches, the top team from each group will progress to play in the Plate Championship of the Premier Trophy.

2.5.3. Duration of Matches

All matches of Qualifying Round will be of two-day duration.

2.5.4. Final Round

2.5.4. 1. The Plate Championship matches between the Sara Trophy teams qualified to play in the Plate Championship will be considered as the Final Round of the Sara Trophy.

2.5.4.2. The team, which has gained the highest number of points, in the Plate Championship matches between the Sara Trophy teams that qualified to play in the Plate Championship will be declared as the winner of the Sara Trophy. Championship.

2.6 Premier Limited Over Tournament

2.6.1 16 Teams will feature in two groups of eight teams each

2.6.2. The Tournament Committee, based on their performances in the previous year's tournament, and/or on a draw, will seed the Teams into two groups.

2.6.3. Matches in the preliminary-round shall be played on a league basis with each Team in a group playing against all other teams in the same group, once.

2.64. The top two teams in each group shall play in the final round on a knockout basis, in the Semi Final and Final.

2.7. Champions Trophy Limited Over Tournament

2.7.1. 20 Teams will feature in four groups of five teams each.

2.7.2. The Teams will be seeded into groups by the Tournament Committee, based on their performances in the previous year's tournament, and/or on a draw or depending on the area.

2.7.3. Matches in the preliminary-round shall be played on a league basis with each Team in a group playing against all other teams in the same group, once.

2.7.4. The top two teams in each group shall play in the final round on a knock-out basis, in the Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final.

2.8 DONOVAN ANDREE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

2.8.1 Up to 40 Teams will feature in groups of five to seven teams each.

2.8.2 The Tournament Committee, based on their performances in the previous year's tournament, and/or on a draw, will seed the Teams into groups.

2.8.3 Matches in the preliminary-round, shall be played on a league basis with each Team in a group playing against all other teams in the same group, once.

2.8.4 The top teams in each group shall play in the final round on a knockout basis.

2.8.5 All matches will be of two day duration.
