Hashan Tillakaratne is on the comeback trail. The fighter he is, Tillkaratne stood firm and saw through the initial stages of trouble. Erratic Indian bowling too helped the doughty batsman. There was no stopping him as he went on to add 95 runs for the sixth wicket with Jayawardene. Tillakaratne made a valiant unbeaten knock of 136 off 214 balls with the help of 16 boundaries. After getting to his hundred, his seventh in Test match cricket, he raised his arms in triumph. His teammates and all in the ground were quick to be on their feet to applaud a great effort from the senior pro. Tillakaratne have saved his career and the experience he brings to the middle order should hold the Sri Lankan team in good stead for the future.
