Nayan Mongia is perhaps one of the world's best wicket keepers. It is indeed a treat to watch him keep to Anil Kumble. Nimble on his feet with a pair of supple hands, no one including the Chairman of Selectors have two opinions about his wicket keeping abilites. One suspect area of his game has been his batting. This season he cracked a big hundred (181) and a fifty in the Ranji Trophy semi finals against Orissa, and was in the forefront of Baroda's Ranji Trophy success. So much has been said about his lack of commitment but one cannot deny the fact that he kept wickets in the memorable Kolkata Test match in spite of a broken nose, sustained behind the stumps!
