(Colombo 2nd ODI - 20 Jul 2001)
New Zealand who were beaten by Sri Lanka in their first match of the
triangular series for the Coca-Cola Cup, took on India at the R.Premadasa
Stadium, Colombo, on Friday. Stephen Fleming won the toss and elected to
bat first on a pitch that was not the best for One-Day International
cricket. It was the same track on which the first match was played and
making runs was never going to be easy. New Zealand had a disastrous start
losing Mathew Sinclair LBW to Zaheer Khan with the very first ball of the
match.
