(Colombo 3rd ODI - 22 Jul 2001)
The Premadasa Stadium in Colombo was the venue for the Sri Lanka v India
One-Day International. Sri Lanka had won their first match against New
Zealand. India had no success as they lost meekly to New
Zealand. Sanath Jayasuriya won the toss and elected to bat first. He
gave his team a good start making a quick 34 off 41 balls. Harbhajan
Singh struck two quick blows, removing Jayasuriya and Marwan Atapattu
(5). When Mahela Jayawardene departed for a duck, Sri Lanka were
struggling at 61/3 in 15 overs.
