(Colombo 3rd ODI - 22 Jul 2001)
Sri Lankans owe their victory to their teamwork. Muralitharan produced
two golden moments in the match, dismissing Sodhi with a beauty that
spun back in sharply and disturbed the woodwork.; the second being
Shewag, holing out to the deep after being tied down by Murali. India
finished with 215/7 in 50 overs, six runs short of the Sri Lankan
score. Sri Lanka showed more commitment and they won a match that
could well have gone the other way. Perera took the Man of the Match
for his allround effort.
