(Colombo 5th ODI - 26 Jul 2001)
India and New Zealand met again at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, for
the second time in the triangular series for the Coca-Cola Cup. New
Zealand had thrashed India by 84 runs in their first encounter. The
match was delayed due to damp pitch conditions and eventually
reduced to a 48 overs game. India won the toss and decided
to make first use of the conditions that suited bowling. Ashish Nehra
drew first blood when he had Nathan Astle (5), caught behind by Sameer
Dighe in the fourth over of the day.
