Eliminated from the pool by Sri Lanka, both the Netherlands and
Pakistan had only pride to play for, but Pakistan had more of it
to salvage. Admittedly their rivals were not the strongest, but
their performance would still matter before returning to Pakistan
to face the brickbats, and Waqar Younis - bowling with discpline
and rhythm - exemplified the need for commitment in his opening
spell, taking two wickets for 14 runs.
