The
cricketing world was introduced to the excitement of 'Sixes' when the
first Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament debuted in 1992. The inaurgural
event, which was won by Pakistan, was staged at the Kowloon Cricket Club,
which hosted the tournament until 1996 when it moved to the Hong Kong
International Stadium. The combination of the 'Asia Crisis' and the loss
of sponsorship resulted in the event being cancelled in 1998. Concerted
efforts to resurrect the tournament eventually lead to its successful
return to the Kowloon Cricket Club in 2001.
