Tendulkar made an unconvincing start but despite not being at his best he made the bad balls count. When the Little Master reached 16, he became the first batsman to score 20,000 international runs. But even the record failed to help his discover his form. After making a rather restrained 43 off 113 balls, he too fell to rookie fast bowler Jermaine Lawson. With India 180-5 at that stage, the West Indies were well and truly back in the game.
