The Asia Cup 2008 will be played in Pakistan from 24 June to 6 July 2008. Teams from the four test playing nations - Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh - will meet the two finalists from the ACC Trophy 2006 - UAE and Hong Kong. Each team will play two matches against the other teams in their group. The top four teams will then play each other in round-robin matches to determine the finalists. Hong Kong has been drawn in Group B alongside Pakistan and India. Hong Kong's two group matches will be played under lights in Karachi.
Hong Kong had hoped to play five matches against local opposition in Lahore as preparation for the Asia Cup, but the PCB did not allow these matches to take place, citing logistics reasons. Hong Kong undertook a tour to Pakistan in May 2008 as part of its preparation for the Asia Cup 2008.
