From time to time Saturday and Sunday League teams, for a variety of reasons, are not able to field 11 players in their League matches. The HKCA is therefore creating a register of cricketers who are willing to play for League teams at short notice. There will be two registers - one for Junior cricketers (under the age of 19 as at 1st January 2007) and one for Senior cricketers.
The Junior Player Pool arrangement will give junior cricketers the valuable chance to gain experience playing cricket in a competitive adult environment, possibly with the outcome that they find a team to play for on a regular basis. The Player Pools will give teams a chance to field a full playing 11 for their matches with the possibility that they could add junior players to their squad.
Pool Players can play for any team that requires them, but are under no obligation to play for teams that call them for a match.
Teams will be requested not to call Pool Players after 10.00pm.
Pool Players will not be required to pay any type of playing fees to a team for which they play, but should receive refreshments provided during matches. However, should a Pool Player decide to play on a regular basis for one team they should request to be removed from the Player Pool Register and pay fees to the team as per the teams normal practice.
If you are under 19 years of age on the 1st January 2007 and wish to be on the Junior Player Pool register please download, complete and return to HKCA the Junior Player Pool Registration Form. Cricketers who are 19 years and over should complete and return the Senior Player Pool Registration Form.
