Botham (Eng) made his theatrical debut as The King in a pro- duction of Jack and the Beanstalk in 1991. R.M. Ellison (Eng) appeared in the Canterbury Opera Society ver- sion of Fiddler on the Roof in 1985. C. Aubrey Smith (Eng) appeared in dozens of Hollywood films in- cluding 'Morning Glory", "The Prisoner of Zenda", "The Adventures of Mark Twain", "Little Lord Fauntleroy" and "Rebecca" in 1930s and 40s. Donald Duck was so named after Walt Disney watched D.G. Bradman (Aus) get out for a duck during the Australian tour of North America in 1932. Disney, a keen cricket fan, was a member of Hol- lywood Cricket Club. L. Hutton, D.C.S. Compton, J.C. Laker, C. Washbrook, T.G. Evans and A.V. Bedser (all Eng) appeared in the 1953 British light comedy film The Final Test starring Robert Morley and Jack Warner. D.R. Pringle (Eng) made a brief appearance in the 1981 film "Chariots of Fire". D.M. Jones, M.R. Waugh and T.M. Alderman (all Aus) have made ap- pearances on the TV game shows like "Sale of the Century", "Fami- ly Feud" and "The Main Event". M.G. Hughes (Aus) guest starred in the Channel9 drama "Flying Doctors". M.J.C. Allom (E) , awell-regarded saxophonist, was a member of Quinquaginta Club Ramblers and recorded a number of songs on Brunswick label. A.R. Lewis (Eng) was a violinist with the Welsh Youth Orchestra. B.E. Congdon (NZ) played trumpet in a jazz band. D.G. Bradman (Aus) recorded two piano solos on a 78 rpm disc dur- ing the 1930 tour of England. In 1971 the England Test side, fresh from securing the Ashes in Australia in 1970-71, celebrated the win by recording "The Ashes Song". It turned out to be flop, unlike "Here Come the Aussies" by the '72 Australians, which made it into the Australian Top 20. J.A. Snow (Eng) had two volumes of his poetry published in 1970s - "Contrasts and Moment and Thoughts". M.H.N. Walker (Aus) was named Australia's best-selling author in 1990 after three of his books - "How to Hypnotise Chooks", "How to Tame Lions", and "How to Kiss a Crocodile" - each sold over 150,000 copies.
