SOUTH AFRICA v INDIA 1992-93
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1994

At East London, December 19 (day/night). India won by five wickets. Toss: India.

Positive strokeplay by Amre and Yadav gave India success, though it was too late to affect the series, which South Africa won 5–2. Chasing 204, India began shakily and were 80 for four before Kapil Dev helped Amre add 50 for the fifth wicket. Yadav then joined Amre and shared an unfinished stand of 74 in ten overs. In the final stages, South Africa missed McMillan: he had twisted an ankle soon after he started bowling, and decided to complete his quota unchanged before retiring. His team's innings was slowed by Kapil and the spinners, though Wessels became the only batsman on either side to pass 300 runs in the series, and Cronje later hit freely.

Man of the Match: P. K. Amre. Man of the Series: K. C. Wessels.
