PAKISTAN v ZIMBABWE 1993-94
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1995

At Lahore, December 27. Pakistan won by 75 runs. Toss: Pakistan. International debut: Irfan Bhatti.

Pakistan completed a clean sweep in the one-day series when they dismissed Zimbabwe for 141. The tourists' pursuit of 217 in 40 overs began badly when 25-year-old medium-pacer Irfan Bhatti, making his international debut, dismissed both openers on 21. Campbell and Houghton tried to rally Zimbabwe but, once leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed removed them, the rest offered little defiance; occasional bowler Salim Malik picked up three for 22.

Pakistan had been in the same precarious position, 61 for three, but they recovered through an entertaining stand of 127 between Inzamam-ul-Haq and Javed Miandad. Inzamam hit nine fours in an unbeaten 80 from 94 balls and Miandad made his 50th half-century – excluding his eight hundreds – in 228 limited-overs internationals.

Man of the Match: Inzamam-ul-Haq.
