INDIA v SRI LANKA 1993-94
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1995

At Hyderabad, February 18. India won by seven wickets. Toss: India. International debuts: A. A. W. Gunawardene, K. R. Pushpakumara.

A fine innings of 98 from Ranatunga, his highest in limited-overs internationals, and an aggressive fifty from Kalpage revived Sri Lanka from 65 for five. They had suffered from having to bat first on a pitch which was liveliest at the start. Prabhakar was the chief beneficiary, with his first haul of five wickets in a one-day international, though he was considerably helped by the pace and lift obtained by Srinath. India were left with a target of 227, which they chased in orderly fashion; the openers put on 98 and Kambli added pep with an unbeaten 56 off 64 balls.

Man of the Match: M. Prabhakar.
