SOUTH AFRICA v WEST INDIES
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1995

At Brabourne Stadium, Bombay, November 14. South Africa won by 41 runs. Toss: West Indies.

Heavy overnight rain leaked on to the pitch at the Brabourne Stadium– the Test ground superseded by the Wankhede almost 20 years before – and reduced the match to 40 overs a side. Cullinan and Rhodes responded well after South Africa had been put in and lost both openers for 11 runs. They added 65 in 11 overs for the fourth wicket, though Cullinan was eventually forced to retire through heat exhaustion. Rhodes starred in the West Indian innings too: his athleticism secured five catches, a record for a fielder in one-day internationals, and a straightforward victory for South Africa.

Man of the Match: J. N. Rhodes.
