Sri Lanka To tour West Indies In May 1997

The West Indies are finalising the tour itinerary of Sri Lanka's
tour of the Caribbean islands and will be sent to the BCCSL soon.
The have confirmed that they will host Sri Lanka for a full Test
tour in May next year. This will be Sri Lanka's first ever Test
tour of the Caribbean Island since gaining full ICC membership in
1981.
A Indies Board of Control for Cricket (WIBCC) official said they
will host Sri Lanka for a five-week tour in May to play two
Tests, three one day internationals and two three-day side games.
Bridgetown and St.John's are the likely venues for the Tests.
Sri Lanka and the West Indies have met each other only once in
Test cricket - in Sri Lanka's 50th Test at the Tyronne Fernando
Stadi- um, Moratuwa in 1993.
