ZIMBABWE v SRI LANKA 1994-95
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1996

At Harare, November 3. Sri Lanka won by 56 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe. International debut: G. C. Martin.

After a miserable lack of runs in the Tests – where he scored 37 in five innings – Mahanama set up Sri Lanka's victory with an undefeated 119 from 142 balls. He added 119 for the second wicket with Sanjeeva Ranatunga, and in the closing overs De Silva scored a brilliant 35 from 24 balls. Zimbabwe's interest in the match was effectively ended when they slipped to 20 for three by the eighth over; they got to 200 only thanks to Andy Flower, who made 61. Vaas took four cheap wickets.
