BCCSL Under 24 Club Cricket Final : Colts win

Colts CC clinched the BCCSL under - 24 cricket title with a first innings victory over Bloomfield in the final concluded at Reid Avenue Sunday.

Colts CC went on to score 258 after having bowled out the opposition for 168 on the opening day. Their matchwinner was former Anandian Thilan Samaraweera who compiled a solid half century under tremendous pressure. He made a superb contribution of 55 runs while stroking just a solitary boundary. But more important- ly he held the middle order together and helped his side overtake their opponents total of 168 quite comfortably.

Samaraweera also figured in a fourth wicket stand of 50 runs with opener Dilan Kanchana who compiled 46 runs inclusive of a six and five boundaries.

In addition all rounder Suchitra Alexander too scored a half century but in a completely different manner. He went on to make a top score of 76 with the help of three sixes and five boundaries.

Bathisha de Silva returned the best bowling figures for Bloomfield with a four wicket haul from 26 overs. Bloomfield in their second innings scored 57 for no loss from 12 overs.
