Based on their performances in the recent Test series in England, the ICC has assigned Francis to officiate the second Test between England and Zimbabwe at Harare from December 26-30.
Francis officiated the England-India third Test at Trent Bridge in July.
Cooray who stood in the England-Pakistan third Test at the Oval in August, has been assigned to officiate the second Test between India and South Africa at Calcutta from November 27 - December 1.
Francis and Cooray are members of the ICC's international panel of umpires since 1994 and have officiated in 16 and seven Tests respectively.
They also officiated in the Wills World Cup tournament held in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka early this year which featured a total of 37 matches.
