Arjuna in England

Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga left for England yesterday to attend the International Cricket Council captains' meeting to be held in Lord's.

Ranatunga is due to return home on Sunday to lead Sri Lanka in the 'curtain-raiser' of the Pepsi Asia Cup against Pakistan at the Premadasa Stadium on Monday. Captains of all Test playing nations will attend the annual meeting to be held at Lord's. Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar who is also be in London, will proceed to Colombo along with Ranatunga.

AT THE MEETING

Mark Taylor (Australia), Mike Atherton (England), Hansie Cronje (South Africa), Stephen Flemming (New Zealand), Andy Flower (Zimbabwe), Courtney Walsh (West Indies) and Rameez Raja/ Wasim Akram (Pakistan) are expected to attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, Pakistan cricket team arrived in Colombo last afternoon to take part in the Pepsi Asia Cup four-nation tournament which starts here on Monday.

The Indian cricket team will arrive in Colombo on Sunday at 12.30 p.m. and also play a two-Test and three-match one day international series against Sri Lanka.
