* Sri Lanka coach Bruce Yardley will leave for Australia on Tuesday for an urgent medical check-up, but will return to Colombo before the Pepsi Asia Cup four-nation final to be played on July 26.

Local Cricket Board sources said their Australian coach Yardley will leave after Sri Lanka's 'curtain raiser' match against Pakistan on Monday for an overdue medical checkup but will definitely be back before Sri Lanka's two-Test and three-match one day international series against India. Sources said that Yardley will return no sooner his medical tests are over. Former Australian Test spinner Yardley is on a 30-month contract with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board until the 1999 World Cup in England where Arjuna Ranatunga and his men will defend their world 'crown'.

* The R.Premadasa International Cricket Stadium and the SSC grounds in Colombo will host Tests in Sri Lanka's home series against India starting early next month. The Indians are due to arrive here on Sunday afternoon to play in the Pepsi Asia Cup tournament and will stay back to play two Tests and three one day internationals against the hosts.

The first Test between Sri Lanka and India will be played from August 2 to 6 at Premadasa Stadium. The Second Test will be played at SSC from, August 9 to 13. The three-match one day international series will be played after the Tests. The First One-Day International will be played at SSC grounds on August 18. The two remaining one day internationals will be played at the Premadasa Stadium on August 21 and 23. Both of them will be day night affairs.

* St.John's College, Jaffna scored a good win in their annual under-17 match against the Kokuvil Hindu College last week.

St. John's captain A. T. Gowripalan scored 236 runs, which included 18 sixes and 20 boundaries. A. E. Dinesh scored 78. Chief scores: St. John's 419 for 7 wkts (A. T. Gowripalan 236, A. E. Dinesh 78). Kokuvil Hindu 142 (S. Priyatharshan 6 for 21).
