In Brian Lara's first comments about his on-off return to Warwickshire next summer, he has said he is still uncertain about the move, writes Peter Deeley.
The West Indies batsman told me here after the first Pakistan Test that he was ``still not sure'' if he would be returning to Edgbaston for the 1997 season.
When asked: ``Are there still some matters to be sorted out?'' he replied: ``Yes, a few''.
Warwickshire's chief executive, Dennis Amiss, has always said that he believes Lara will return. He revealed last week that there were ``no contingency plans'' to obtain another overseas player if Lara did not sign but admitted the club could not let the matter drift on.
One complicating factor is that West Indies' domestic calendar has not been finalised because a sponsor is still being sought for the first-class competition.
