A FINE allround effort by St. Anthony's College skipper Mahes Pallihakkara who thumped a quick 87 with 11 fours and 3 sixes and also captured 6 for 46 including a hat trick with his off spinners was the highlight of their inter school cricket match against St. Annes College, Karunegala which ended in a draw at Katugastota yesterday.

Gehan Abeykoon helps Dharmadutha into second round

DHARMADUTHA College qualified for the second round in the under 13 - All-Island Horlicks Inter-School Cricket Tournament when they beat St. Thomas' College, Gurutalawa and St. Thomas' College, Bandarawela, played recently at the Badulla Esplanade.
Gehan Abeykoon excelled in both the encounters and claimed a total of 15 wickets for 51 runs.
He captured 8 wickets for 17 against STC Gurutalawa and 7 wickets for 34 runs against STC Bandarawela. Dharmadutha Skipper D. V. Budhika too scored an unbeaten century against STC Gurutalawa.

Air Force Diyatalawa on faster run-rate
SRI LANKA Air Force, Diyatalawa beat Badulla Saraa Sports Club on faster run rate in their Badulla League limited over cricket encounter played at the Badulla Esplanade on Saturday afternoon.
Saraa Sports Club batting first scored 136 runs in 28 overs. T. Prasanna top scored with 34 runs. When rain interrupted play, Sri Lanka Air Force was given a task of scoring 65 runs in 15 overs and they achieved this target losing only 4 wickets.

Kingswood celebrate with cricket sixes
KINGSWOOD College, Kandy, the Old Kingswoodian Sports Club, Kandy is conducting the annual six-a-side cricket tournament on November 9 as part of the Kingswood day celebration at the Randles Hills, commencing at 9.30 a.m.
The winners, runners-up, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Fielder and the Man of the Tournament will be presented trophies.
The following teams will participate Old Kingswoodian SC, Kandy and Colombo, College XI and Old Boys Union and Colombo Branch.
Peterite Cricket Circle to popularise game in outstation towns
THE Peterite Cricket Circle, as part of its effort to afford players and enthusiasts a chance of witnessing competitive cricket in their home towns, have arranged to play a series of games all over the country.
The first of these games, a 40-over match, will be staged on Friday (November 14) at Kegalle, followed by two other games at Peradeniya and Matale on November 15 and 16.
The team consists mainly of young Old Peterites in the calibre of Mario Villavarayan, Niranjan Dabare and Demian Perera. Sri Lanka ``cap'' Russiel Arnold may lead this side if available.
More games are being planned at Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Mahiyangana, Pellwate and Hambantota.
All these games will be against teams arranged by the District Sports Officers.
Indika bowls Access to victory
ACCESS recorded their third consecutive win in the Mercantile 'H' division tournament when they beat Ginza Sports Club by 8 wickets Indika Tillakaratne bagged 6 wickets for 9 runs for Access in the Ginza total of 35.
