Over 200 undergo cricket coaching

Over 200 students from all schools in Badulla, Bandarawela, Welimada, Mahiyangana, Moneragala and Passara attended a cricket coaching clinic conducted at the Badulla Esplanade.

Mr. Bandula Warnapura former Sri Lanka skipper and Lankan Cavaliers skipper along with the Manager Lakith Pieris, Jerry Walterz, Damion Fernando, Basil Perera, Mervin Fernando, S. Illangaratnam, Chithra Mendis, K. H. Nandasena, Keerthi Gunaratne, Bandula de Silva and C. P. P. Raj conducted the classes on the Badulla Esplanade.

According to the President of the Badulla District Cricket Association, R. M. U. Ratnayake, the boys in Uva learnt a lot from the former cricketers of Sri Lanka.

Cambrians 60

Prince of Wales were shot out for 60 in their inter-school match against Dharmasoka at Ambalangoda, yesterday.

When rain stopped play Dharmasoka were 8 for no loss.

Prince of Wales 60 (S. Peris 28, C. Soysa 3 for 13, S. B. Gayan 3 for 9, M. W. Asanga 3 for 14).

Dharmasoka 8 for no loss.

Francis Cooray to Sharjah

Sri Lanka's International Cricket Counil (ICC) panel of umpires, K.T. Francis and B.C. Cooray will officiate in the four-nation cricket tournament in Sharjah from December 11-19.

They will be joined by Steve Bucknor of West Indies and Cyril Mitchley of South Africa.

England, India, Pakistan and West Indies are the participating countries.
