Owing to the present adverse weather conditions experienced in the country, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has cancelled the first two one-day limited-over matches scheduled between the Sri Lanka Board XI and the touring Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy (CBCA) and, replaced it with a three-day fixture starting at the SSC grounds at 9.30 a.m. today.

The two one-day games were scheduled for today and Saturday at the Sara Stadium and Moratuwa Stadium respectively.

According to a Cricket Board release, the third one-day limited-over game (which is the final match of the CBCA's tour of Sri Lanka) will be played as scheduled at the SSC grounds on September 28 (Sunday).

It is the view of the Cricket Board that the limited-over games could possibly be abandoned if each team fails to bat for a minimum of 25 overs.

In the circumstances, the decision to play a 3-day match was arrived at after consultation with the national selectors and The Management of the CBCA to ensure maximum play, even if rain intervenes at intervals.

With the altered itinerary, the national selectors have named a squad of eleven players (with three reserves) led by SSC left-hander, Hemantha Wickremaratne to lead in today's 3-day game.

The first 4-day game ended in a draw at the Sara Stadium, the second was abandoned without a ball bowled at the SSC, and the third and final match was also abandoned after the first day's play at Galle.

The Sri Lanka Board XI squad for the 3-day game starting today: Hemantha Wickremaratne (captain), Pubudu Dasanayake (vice-captain), Shantha Kalavitigoda, Chaminda Mendis, Indika de Saram, Avishka Gunawardena, Chandrakumara Guruge, Amal Dalugoda, Bateesha de Silva, Chaminda Boteju, Pradeep Hewage, Reserves Anil Rideegammanagedera, Tilan Samaraweera, Indika Gallage.
