Deaf cricketers vs Planters

Deaf cricketers take on DMCC

The Sri Lanka deaf cricket team which participated at the inaugural World Cup for the deaf in 1996 will be meeting the planters team of Dickoya Maskeliya Cricket Club (DMCC) on Sunday at Dickoya in a bid to sharpen the skills of the deaf cricketers. THE TEAMS

Sports gear for N'Eliya schools

FOUR hundred and thirty-five schools in the Nuwara Eliya district will receive sports equipment worth Rs.800,000 today, from Samurdhi, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister S.B.Dissanayake at the Nuwara Eliya Indoor Stadium.

The winners of the recent sports events organised by the Nuwara Eliya District Sports Foundation will also receive prizes and certificates, a ministry spokesman said.
