MARK RAMPRAKASH and Andy Caddick are in pole position for the top awards of £10,000 as the Whyte & Mackay rankings go into their final few days.

Ramprakash took advantage of Graham Thorpe's decision to sit out Surrey's championship match against Lancashire, sneaking ahead of his England team-mate, while the only other batsman in the running is Steve James.

There are also three contenders for the bowling award Caddick, Mike Smith and Dougie Brown.
