Azhar Mahmood declines county offer wants to play for his country
Azhar Mahmood who has hit the stardom as a brilliant all rounder of Pakistan team has declined a
lucrative offer received by him from Northamptonshire to play county cricket for them. When asked
by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about his views on the offer, the young crickter replied.
"It is my country that is given me the status and the honour that I am enjoying today. At no cost I
would prefer county cricket over my national committments and obligation".
It is after Azhar Mahmood's refusal that Northamptonshire has hired the services of Franklyn Rose
from the West Indies.
