The West Indies Cricket Board's five-day senior coaching course got off to a good start at Sabina Park yesterday under director of coaching Reggie Scarlett.

The course designed to upgrade the level of coaching and to increase the number of qualified coaches in the region has attracted past West Indies players Jeffrey Dujon, Patrick Patterson (Jamaica) along with Ezra Moseley and Thelston Payne (Barbadoes).

``They are the best group of cricketers I have ever coached. They understand what the course is all about and are very receptive and my only wish is that there should be a lot more groups of this calibre,'' Scarlett said.

The course started out yesterday morning with Scarlett introducing the prospective coaches to several techniques.
