Scores: Cornwall 92; Surrey South 66 for one.

Surrey South are poised to win the Kingston Wharves Under-19 cricket title as they required just another 26 runs to capture first innings points against Cornwall at the end of yesterday's first day at Alpart.

Spinner Michael Buchanan bagged four wickets to keep Cornwall below three figures.

Sent in to bat, Cornwall were rocked by Buchanan who bagged four wickets for 21 runs from 10 overs as only Omar Burke with 19, Brenton Parchment (15) and National Under-15 batsman Omar Campbell (13) offered any form of resistance.

At the close yesterday, Surrey South in reply were sailing confidently with prolific captain Christopher Gayle unbeaten on 40 and Tamar Lambert yet to trouble the scorers. Opening batsman Danza Hyatt made 21. Franklyn Salmon took the only wicket to fall.

At UWI

Scores: Surrey North 202; Middlesex zero without loss before bad light ended play after just 2.2 overs.

Donovan Pagon and Carlton Baugh Jnr. scored half centuries to pilot Surrey North to a challenging 202.

Pacers Damion Morgan with two for 21 from 11 overs and Evon McInnis with two for 41 from 14 overs along with a wicket apiece from spinners Kevin Peart, Barrington Bartley Jnr and Maurice Clarke were the most successful bowlers for the Middlesex team. Opening batsman Donovan Pagon scored a patient 95 before he was run out, while all-rounder Carlton Baugh Jnr. scored an attractive 71 before going in similar fashion to Pagon.

Both games continue today at 10 a.m.
