Alloy Lequay, the outspoken Trinidad and Tobago cricket official, has resigned as one of his country's representatives on the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).

In making the surprise announcement Lequay said by quitting the WICB, he will be making way to concentrate on other projects.

He revealed that currently his attention is focused on the National Cricket Centre which is due to begin construction in October.

``The centre has been one of the areas that needs attention, and I have to find the time to look after it. As a result I have stepped down from the WICB,'' said Lequay.

Lequay's place will be taken by Ellis Lewis, a T&T Cricket Board vice-president, who together with Richard de Souza will now represent this country on the regional board.
