``I am worried about our batting considering we did so badly in the Red Stripe Bowl,'' Williams said yesterday.
``We are making every effort to deal with that problem before the final trial match gets underway at Sabina Park on January 7 and hope that at the end we will see some improvement,'' he said.
Williams however, is confident that with Christopher Gayle and Wavell Hinds back from their ``fairly successful'' West Indies A tour of India, the Jamaican batting will improve in the next trial game.
``We are hoping that Gayle and Hinds will strenghten our batting in the final trial match. None of them got 100s on the tour, which is one of the ingredients of a top-class batsman, but hopefully for us they will show what they have learnt,'' he said.
Williams said he was happy with the progress of James Adams who had to pull out of the South Africa tour because of injury.
``Jimmy Adams batted well in the nets over the weekend and we hope he will be well enough for the final trial,'' he said.
``Based on what we have seen so far, the fast bowling is suspect as we will be without our two most experienced fast bowlers in Courtney Walsh and Franklyn Rose but the ones we have shown a lot of enthusiasm and it will be competitive at the end of the next trial to choose the right combination,'' Williams said.
