Drawn match at Darley Road

The inter-school cricket match between St. Joseph's College and Prince of Wales College ended in a draw at Darley Road yesterday.

Scores:

Prince of Wales - 88 all out and 141/8 at close. R. Peris - 57, H. Fernando - 25, Anuk Wijeratne 7/27.

St. Joseph's (120 for one-overnight) 192 for 2 dec. (Ian Daniels 96, Dilan Ramanayake - 44 n.o., Roshan De Silva - 16 n.o.).

Sebastianites get 187/9

A fifth wicket stand of 78 runs between Suranga de Silva (77) and Nuwan Fernando (37) enabled St. Sebastians College, Moratuwa to declare their first innings at 187 for 9 wickets in their inter-school cricket match against Nalanda College which began at Moratuwa yesterday.

St. Sebastians 187 for 9 dec. (Suranga de Silva 77, Nuwan Fernando 37, Primesh Fernando 30, Malshan Fernando 19 n.o., Niranjan Kumara 3 for 45, Buddhika Ranaweera 2 for 14, Dilhan Jayasundera 2 for 39).

Mobitel phones for Lankan cricketers

The Sri Lanka Cricket team that left for Australia on Monday were presented with Mobitel phones for international roaming services. Ms. Cathy Aston CEO/MD of Mobitel (Pvt.) Ltd., said that Mobitel was happy to extend this facility to our cricketers.

``This is an important tour to the Sri Lanka team and Mobitel wish them the very best'', Ms. Aston added. The Sri Lanka Cricketers left for Australia on Monday for a month long tour where they will play England and Australia in 10 one-day internationals in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Hobart.

Mobitel is a joint venture company between Sri Lanka Telecom and Telstra Corporation of Australia. Mobitel is the ``Official Mobile Phone Provider'' to the Cricket team.
