KENYA v PAKISTAN
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1998

At Aga Khan Sports Club, Nairobi, October 2. Pakistan won by four wickets. Toss: Kenya. International debuts: A. Suji; Shahid Afridi.

Kenya hoped for a repeat of their shock World Cup victory over West Indies when they reduced Pakistan to 61 for five, but Salim Malik and Moin Khan averted ignominy. The home team had stumbled themselves, subsiding to 62 for seven, mainly to Saqlain Mushtaq. But Chudasama scored a patient fifty while Odoyo chipped in with some fluent shots through mid-wicket. Odoyo then struck with the ball, taking three early wickets as Pakistan tottered. Kenya were left to regret the lack of an extra wicket-taking bowler.

Man of the Match: T. Odoyo.
