ZIMBABWE Cricket Union president Peter Chingoka will seek a seventh tenure of office at the union's annual general meeting to be held in Harare at the end of the month.

Chingoka became the ZOC president in July 1992 when he took over from Dave Ellman-Brown and has been re-elected virtually unopposed over the years. He confirmed to the Zimbabwe Independent this week that he was going to stand for another term.

``I will stand if they (the provinces) ask me to,'' he said.

The Independent has established that the majority of the provinces were in support of Chingoka's executive which is likely to be retained en masse at the annual general meeting.

Meanwhile, the ZCU will next Wednesday officially launch its Development Trust Fund, aimed at developing the player base of the game.

ZCU chief executive Don Arnott said the idea of the fund was started last year with $1 million wrought from the profits realised from the tour of England here as seed money.
