The Jamaica Cricket Board of Control have appointed three managers and a coach for four Jamaica teams which will be competing on overseas tours.
George Sterling has been named to manage Jamaica team at the Commonwealth Games in Maylasia, Hugh Perry is manager of the team to California, Lindel Wright, manager of the Jamaica Youth team (Under-19) for the 1998 Nortel tourament in Trinidad, and Junior Bennett coach of the Youth team for the Nortel tournament in Trinidad.
Nortel trial match
The first of two three-day trial matches sponsored by Capital and Credit Merchant Bank, Burger King and Carreras Sports Foundation, to select Jamaica's 15-man squad to this year's regional Nortel Under-19 cricket tournament, will be played at Up Park Camp starting Friday morning at 10.30.
The teams will be led by Tamar Lambert of Jonathan Grant High and Ricardo Powell of Holmwood Technical.
The teams will be selected from: Lambert, Powell, Christopher Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Wade Allen, Kevin Peart, Mathew Sinclair, Sean Cousley, Brenton Parchment, Royan Smith, Carlton Baugh Jnr, Maurice Clarke, Michael Buchanan, Rashard Marshall, Barrington Bartley Jnr, Bevon Brown, Kerry Scott, Phillip Keating, Evon McInnis, Andrew Richardson, Kamal Dennis, Jermaine Lawson, Harland Haye, Donovan Pagon, Danza Hyatt, Durale Forrest and Keith Hibbert.
The players are being asked to report at Sabina Park on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
The trial matches will be sponsored by Captial and Credit Merchant Bank, Burgher King, and the Carrera Sports Foundation.
Capital and Credit Merchant Bank will also be providing the tour squad with sweat suits, polo shirts, t-shirts, and travelling bags.
