A Special General Meeting of the Council of the Africa Cricket Association (ACA) took place in Kampala, Uganda, on Saturday 13 March 1998.
The meeting was convened in order to bid farewell to Krish Mackerdhuj (President of the United Cricket Board of South Africa) who is retiring from the chairmanship of the ACA to take up ambassadorial duties for the Republic of South Africa in Japan. Consequently, there was a need to confirm the appointment of a successor.
At the meeting Peter Chingoka (President of the Zimbabwe Cricket Union) was duly elected Chairman of the ACA for the period to October 1998 when the Annual General Meeting of the ACA will take place in Namibia. Mr Neil Armstrong (Botswana) remains Vice-Chairman and Convenor of the Finance and Marketing Committee of the ACA, whilst Mac Dudhia of Zimbabwe is the Convenor of the Development Committee.
The Special General Meeting also discussed other general business and unanimously approved the paper prepared by the Executive Committee on ``Development, Tournament Planning and Budgets''.
The detailed document is available on request from the Zimbabwe Cricket Union office.
