Raddoluwa MV win by innings

Raddoluwa Maha Vidyalaya scored an innings and 70 runs win over Sri Rahula College, Katugastota in their Coca Cola Bottlers trophy cricket tournament concluded at the University grounds, Peradeniya on Saturday. The match ended with 16 overs to spare.

Sri Rahula have only themselves to lame for this defeat which was their second this season as their front line batsmen have repeatedly failed and it has been left to their middle and late order batsmen to salvage the batting. In their match against Ibbagamuwa they lost their first two wickets for 0 and later slumped to 60 for 6, and in the second innings they were 6 runs for 5 wickets before they recovered. In this match they were 14 for 4 before they recovered in the first innings. But no recovery in the second innings saw them slip down to defeat.

For Raddoluwa R. Tennakoon hit a fine 110 not out with 14 fours and N. Arangala scored a defiant 83 with 10 fours.

Sri Rahula College 166 and 71 all out in 42.2 overs (N. Ratnayake 15, C. Telwadana 11, N. Gunatillake 4 for 18, N. Paranavitharane 3 for 20, S. Paris 2 for 12).
