IT WAS all over just before lunch yesterday, when the Wattala Antonians, having played themselves into a fine position of getting 168 runs for victory, failed miserably with the bat to be all out for 86 thus conceding an outright victory to SSC in their division I Sara Trophy (Segment 'A') cricket match played at the S. Thomas' College grounds, Mt. Lavinia.
In reply to SSC's 257, Antonians who were 40 for 2 overnight on day one (Thursday), went on to make 201 with a major contribution of 88, made up of 9 fours and 4 sixes coming from Passan Wanasinghe, while off-spinner Harith Jayasuriya claimed four wickets for 25 for SSC.
With a 56 run lead, SSC batting a second time, collapsed for a meagre 111 runs brought about by left-arm spinner Gamini Perera 6/46, who had a match bag of 11 for 111.
Having to make 168 runs for victory Antonians ended day 2 (Friday) on 3 for 8 runs, and continuing yesterday succumbed for 86 with medium pacer Suresh Perera bowling well to take 4 for 15.

Rahula College, Katugastota made a strong reply of 87 for 2 wickets to Piliyandala Central's 224 on the first day of their inter-school cricket match which started yesterday at Piliyandala. The match will be continued today at 9.30 am.

Bloomfield hit up a massive 472 for 7 at stumps on the second day in their Saravanamuttu Trophy (Segment 'A') cricket match against Moratuwa SC at Reid Avenue yesterday.
Navid Nawaz stroked a fine 109 with 16 boundaries, while three others made half centuries. They were Pubudu Dassanayake (66 with eight fours), Priyankara Wickremasinghe (71 not out with nine boundaries) and Ruchira Palliyaguru (61 with seven boundaries and two sixes).
