Canterbury beat both defending champion Northern Districts and Wellington at the weekend to be unbeaten along with Auckland.

However, Canterbury which was loaded with eight past or present Black Caps will now lose all those players who are appearing in the Shell Conference first-class series which starts on Wednesday.

Canterbury's next Max match is against Central Districts at Jade Stadium (Lancaster Park) on Friday night.
