Clive Rice to manage Notts

Former South Africa skipper Clive Rice is set to return to Nottinghamshire, the county that he served and led with distinction.

Rice, who had a reputation for ``no nonsense'' captaincy, has been offered a position as manager at his old county and has accepted.

He will remain on the UCBSA's selection panel, but will have to vacate his position as manager of the Plascon Cricket Academy. The UCB have created a new position for a Director Of Coaching, and the succesful applicant for this post will assume control of the Plascon Academy.

Rice will arrive in Nottingham on November 1st, shortly before he journeys to German to undergo surgery for a benign brain tumour.
