Lanka Cavaliers led by former Sri Lanka Test cap Bandula Warnapura have been invited to play in Dubai by 'Lanka Lions' one of the leading Sri Lankan Sports and Social clubs in the UAE. During their short stay in Dubai commencing from the end of November the Cavaliers will play four matches with Indian, Pakistani, British and Sri Lankan veterans teams which include some famous cricketers.

The main objective of touring overseas for the first time is to share the peace and goodwill with nations in each country and also to strengthen co-operation and friendship with them . This tour will also help us to conduct some coaching clinics for the cricket loving students living there, President, Lanka Cavaliers Lakith Peiris said in an interview with Daily News.

Mr. Peiris also said that most of their players are well experienced in the field of cricket and their main intention was to impart their vast cricketing knowledge to outstation cricketers in Sri Lanka who generally lack even the basic facilities and expert guidance to further their natural cricketing skills.

In the recent past we embarked on an ambitious program of conducting a two day coaching clinic/match every month at Anuradhapura, Buttala, Matale, Badulla, Ratnapura, Kurunegala, Ambalangoda, Nuwara- Eliya and some other places in the country. These clinics were in three parts and consist of a lecture followed by a practice session and a video analysis of talented players with a view to rectifying any defects they may have. We also plan to stage coaching camps at Dambulla, Galle and Hatton in the near future, he added.
