Cambrian get 275 for 4

Prince of Wales College had scored 275 for 4 wickets before rain stopped play at 2.20 p.m. in their inter-school cricket match against Mahinda College which began at Moratuwa yesterday.

Pubudu Ranaweera remained unbeaten on 120 inclusive of 13 boundaries while Janaka Guneratne (40), Janaka Wannakuwatte (37) and Hasantha Fernando (32) made useful contributions.

Nuwan Fernando (50 n.o.) and Suranga de Silva (44 n.o.) batted well for the home team.

St. Joseph's College, Maradana were right on top in their Coca Cola Bottlers Trophy Cricket Tournament match against Kignswood College, which began at Police grounds, kandy yesterday. The match will be continued today at 9.30 am.

Josephians put into bat ran up a quick 220 for 8 in only 44.2 overs with R. de Silva top scoring with a good 50 (5 fours, 1 six).

Kingswoodians in their turn at the wickets were badly placed at 43 for 6 when bad light stopped play at 4.45 pm.
